About Us

    General Lidl Information

Lidl’s history goes back to the 1930s, when the company was founded in Germany as a grocery wholesaler.

The first Lidl stores were opened in 1973, and by the 1980s, Lidl was a household name throughout Germany. During the 1990s, Lidl started to open stores outside Germany, and today Lidl stores can be found in nearly every country in Europe. Lidl is now well established as a major European food retailer. Our extensive network of stores is unmatched in the discount sector. Lidl is ranked as one of the largest retailers in the world with over 10,000 stores and employs more than 260,000 people worldwide.

    About Lidl Singapore Pte. Limited

Lidl Singapore was established in mid 2018 as a procurement hub in Asia for Lidl. Although we are comparably a young sourcing company, our potential and drive are witnessed by the continued expansion of our business scale. Today, we source non-food products from over 12 countries across Asia, and our business covers a wide range of Textile products.

We constantly work to safeguard our high standard of quality at each stage of production. The first step in doing so is to source and select the most suitable factories for our products. In addition, to ensure that our strict quality standards are always met, we have established Quality Departments with highly experienced employees.

We always remind ourselves of Lidl’s pride in providing top quality products at a competitive price to all our customers. And we are proud of our mission to source better products not at the expense of our commitment to social responsibility. We stand firmly shoulder-to-shoulder with our business partners to create a sustainable trade environment.
